    • Use a variety of complex SQL query techniques (store procedures, data modeling)
    • Build IBM-compatible computers and upgrade, install, and maintain Novell networks
    • Support daily operations, system maintenance (patches), and major and minor OS version updates
    • Develop a menu system for accessing the mapping systems to reduce the need for UNIX training
    • Train other operators in data distribution, reprocessing techniques, and the use of UNIX scripts
    • Train cashiers and managers in the use of the computer, the POS, and the theScMP32 program
    • Assist users in resolving networking and browser issues on Windows and OSX, and assist with VPN troubleshooting
    • Use SMS to remotely log into customer PCs to verify and repair hardware/software problems, reducing the workload
    • Analyze, and repair various mainframe computers, networks, stand-alone PCs, and phone systems
    • Provide strategic troubleshooting and problem-solving to remedy performance problems with routers, file servers, switches, and tape libraries
    • Configure TCP/IP protocol over frame-relay for branch locations
    • Implement TCP/IP networking protocol fundamentals and network architecture components
    • Support LAN connectivity, setup/staging, configuring, and troubleshooting
    • Implement a PXE-based backup/recovery system enabling bare-metal restores of Linux servers
    • Monitor software/hardware systems, troubleshoot, and escalate as needed to appropriate personnel
    • Maintain, troubleshoot, and reconfigure workstations and all peripherals to a standard configuration
    • Experience with DNS, and DHCP
    • Create streamlined office solutions for customers including data recovery, OS implementation, and backup
    • Prepare and support systems migrating from WinXP to Win7 using automated SCCM software
    • Perform repairs, replacing LCD screens in customers’ laptops
    • Assist with installer development from multiple vendors to be used with SCCM for the UW lab system
    • Work on analysis and modifications to the trading systems utilizing COBOL, DB2, and CICS
    • Design, develop, and program SQL database, applications following customer business requirements, timeliness, and budget constraints
    • Propose and create a centralized database for departmental document retention to meet compliance requirements and streamline the workloads of administrative staff
    • Deploy and administer IP telephony switches and wireless communications systems
    • Demonstrate Novell’s NetWare and GroupWise operations capabilities for executives
